Ares has been in our care since August 2024, and this sweet, resilient boy has already overcome more than most dogs. We rescued Ares from a rural village, where he was likely a livestock guardian dog, as indicated by his cropped ears. However, he suffered severe trauma: one of his back legs was broken, snapped into two pieces and held together only by skin.

 

After a complex surgery to repair his leg with pins and clamps to help his bones fuse, Ares faced an infection that required him to stay at the veterinary clinic for months. Despite these challenges, his spirit has remained unbroken. He’s currently on the mend, receiving the best care and lots of love while he fully heals.

 

We don’t know much about Ares’s past, but one thing is certain: he is an incredibly sweet, gentle soul. Despite everything he has been through, Ares just wants to be loved and is so grateful for every bit of care he receives. His loyalty and calm nature make him a wonderful companion, and he’s happiest when he’s around people who show him kindness.

 

Ares will be available for adoption once he’s fully recovered and medically cleared. He’s looking for a home where he can finally relax, heal fully, and be cherished as he deserves.
